Ras al Jinz-Wadi Bani Khalid-Wahiba Sand Desert (180 km, 2 hours and 45 minutes)

After breakfast, departure for the desert.

Along the way, you’ll visit Wadi Bani Khalid: one  of the most easily accessible wadis in the city, its waters are ideal for sunbathing. Wadi Bani Khalid is divided into two parts. While the southern part, Wadi Hayer, features mountainous terrain ideal for trekking, the northern part is a recreational area with pristine pools, palm trees, and rock faces for swimming and picnicking.

Note:  Foreign visitors may swim, provided they respect the rules: modest clothing (men in shorts, women in T-shirts and leggings), no soap or shampoo, use changing rooms, avoid noise, respect nature, and be safe.

After visiting Wadi Bani Khalid, you enter the desert in 4×4 vehicles.

Desert: – Upon arrival in the desert, you will visit  the Bedouin house.  You will also visit the great desert dunes of the region, popularly known as  the Wahiba Desert.  First-time visitors will be truly amazed by the beauty with which the dunes and their changing colors change.

Desert Sunset:  When sunlight passes through more of the atmosphere, there are more particles that scatter the light. When the sky is the desirable bright red we love at sunsets, it’s an indication that the atmosphere is filled with moisture and dust particles. We see the color red because it has the longest wavelength in the spectrum.

Desert-Sinaw (150 km 2 hours) Sinwa- Birkat al Mauz (84 km, 1 hour) Birkat al Mouz- Jabreen (53 km, 35 min) Jabreen- Nizwa (41 Km, 30 Minutes)

After breakfast, the day starts at 7:30 am.

We leave the desert and continue the tour.

Along the way you visit Sinaw.

Sinaw Souq: (Thursday Only) –  Sinaw is considered one of the most important markets in eastern Oman, along with Sur Market and Ibra Market. The city has a rural feel due to its desert surroundings. The Sinaw Thursday Market is held every Thursday in the northern province of Al-Sharqiyah. It is a very popular market due to its proximity to the Bedouin community, who come here to purchase basic necessities and sell livestock and handicrafts. This market is open from 6:00 AM to 1:00 PM.

Birkat Al Mouz :- In Oman’s Nizwa province, in the Ad Dakhiliyah district, lies the historic village of Birkat Al Mouz. It is also home to the reconstructed fort known as Bait al Redidah and serves as the gateway to Wadi Al-Muaydin on the southern edge of Jebel Akhdar.

Jabreen Castle : – Jabreen Castle rises majestically from the nearby plain, unopposed. Although it has plenty of defenses, Jabreen is among the most fascinating and well-preserved fortresses out there. So it’s worth the effort to scale another set of ramparts. Head toward the flagpole for a bird’s-eye view of the honeycomb-windowed courtyard in the center of the keep.

Upon arrival in Nizwa, transfer to the hotel.

Dinner and overnight in Nizwa.

Nizwa-Muscat (160 Km 1 hour and 45 minutes)

After breakfast, departure for Muscat.

Nizwa Souq (Market) :  Friday  is a special day for those seeking to explore Oman. Nizwa, for example, is a popular destination because “Al Habta,” the goat market, takes place every Friday morning. The market, which begins around 6:30 a.m., continues until 9:30 a.m. Local vendors form a circle, announcing the prices of their animals, brought from neighboring villages.

Nizwa Fort:  – The construction of Nizwa Fort, begun in the seventeenth century by Sultan Bin Saif Al Yarubi, the most prominent member of the Yarubi tribe, and completed in twelve years, has a long and illustrious history. However, this fort was built by Imam Al Sultan bin Malik Al Kharusi during the ninth century.

Nizwa Tower (The Tower of Nizwa) :- The foundation extends 30 meters (98 feet) underground. One of the most interesting features is the cylindrical, drum-shaped tower approximately 45 meters (148 feet) in diameter and approximately 34 meters (112 feet) high.

Bahla Fort: (Photo Stop) – Bahla Fort, among the largest in Oman, now overlooks the sprawling contemporary community of Bahla after years of repairs. It was built by the Bani Nabhan tribe, who ruled the region from the 12th to the 15th centuries, and was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1987.

Al Hamra: –  Al Hamra is a small village outside Nizwa that is mostly in ruins and also has a living history museum,  Bait al Safah , (Visit inside) which makes the stop a must on any trip through the area.

Izki:  The Wilayat of Izki was considered a meeting point for various trade caravans. With a population of 35,000, the Wilayat of Izki is located 130 kilometers south of Muscat. The wilayat borders Samayil to the north, Manah and Adam to the south, Nizwa to the west, and Al Mudhaibi to the east. The history of this wilayat dates back to the pre-Islamic era, when it was founded by Malik bin Fahm al-Azdi.

Muscat-Nakhl-Muscat (return 192 km, 2 hours and 10 minutes)

After breakfast the day begins.

The Grand Mosque:-  The mosque is a marvel of contemporary architecture and this center of worship is beautifully crafted with Islamic, Omani, and Middle Eastern architectural designs.

Note: –  Hours: For non-Muslims, the mosque is open Saturday through Thursday from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Muslims may visit at any time. Women must cover their heads with a headscarf, wear a long-sleeved shirt/top/T-shirt, and cover their legs to the ankle. Men must wear full trousers and a short-sleeved shirt or T-shirt. Men and women are not allowed to wear transparent clothing or images of living beings.

Ayn Thowarah : This is a naturally occurring hot spring next to Nakhal Fort. In Nakhal, you must explore the Al Thawarah Hot Spring, one of Oman’s most exciting and fabulous tourist destinations. Nakhal Fort is not far from the pool, and a man-made pool and river through which the spring flows are pleasant for a stroll.

Nakhal Fort : Although the government rebuilt much of the existing walls for this castle in the seventeenth century, it was originally built in pre-Islamic times (i.e., the ninth century). Various defenses and cannons surround the top of the fort, and the fortifications are formidable. In the background, you can even make out the rugged Al Hajar Mountains.

We return to Muscat.

Qurum Beach : Located on the edge of the Qurum Nature Reserve, it stretches for four kilometers along the Muscat coast, in the heart of Muscat city. Its shallow waters and relatively long high tides make it a family-friendly spot. The clean waters of the Gulf of Oman are perfect for rejuvenation and relaxation, far from the hustle and bustle of city life.
